My experience

With an interesting beginning to her professional art career by way of music, Holly Lo's experience began by painting backdrops and billboards for local L.A bands before getting hired in the early 90’s by Solbrook Display, a pioneer in the billboard industry. There she painted large scale replicas of album covers and movie art, to hang at the Iconic Tower records Sunset, Capitol Records, Wherehouse records, and many other well-known local music locations. This was an incredible life and learning experience, to be around music and at the same time hone and shape her ability while working next to fellow artists with a rich skill and knowledge, they were always generous with feedback and guidance, they were wonderful and it was memorable. Then she was hired at Warner Brothers and enjoyed working on the very large billboards that hung on the side of the building on pass Ave. Climbing over the edge of the roof of a sound stage to get on to a hanging scaffolding didn't phase her, it was another great learning experience. She decided then she would open her own working art studio and gallery, which she did and displayed the work of local artists along with her own work. Working independently gave her the freedom to create her own original work and be an independent artist. In that time she created art for Lawrence unlimited, replicated art for Arte De Mexico and created art for shows on CBS, Fox and Hallmark. Holly Lo has had Group shows in New York for her original work and her commission work being published in Palm Springs Life. A significant amount of  experience has brought her to a place of rhythm and flow when she paints, excited about the next piece of art.            Original oil portrait commission >

My vision

Always as an artist and professional, to see that the idea or the heart of the work come to reality and be what it is meant to be is most important for every piece commissioned, Holly Lo makes sure it's an organic process between artist and art, also artist and client. This is the thread between artist and art lover. Continuing that truth in her original art is incredibly important and the potential of what is next is what moves, motivates and inspires this artist, she celebrates the possibilities.

Publications

In March of 2005 I had the privilege with working with a client, and friend Danny Garcia owner of Precision Gunite Corp. I have worked with Danny for many years on projects and visions he had from homes to his motorcycle. One of his projects that asked of me was the artwork for his new vacation home in Palm Springs California. The collaboration and memorable experience working with Danny, his design architect, and building contractors together to complete his home was a heartfelt experience for me. Finally after all the hard work and design the project was completed. To my surprise I was illustrated in Palm Spring Life March of 2005 for the art work I had accomplished.

Thank you Danny for the trust, love, and the surprises.
